ESL Information English as a Second Language Program
Littleton Public Schools’ English as a Second Language Program serves approximately 800 limited English proficient students, grades K-12. Our students come from many different language backgrounds.
The district serves ESL students at the following schools: East Elementary, Field Elementary, Newton Middle School, Goddard Middle School, and Littleton High School. Students attending their district-indicated ESL school will receive transportation. Students have the option of returning to their home schools upon reaching the ESL program’s exit criteria.
Our ESL program uses a combination of “pull-out” and in-class support utilizing certificated, endorsed English as a Second Language professional teaching staff. Collaboration with other special service personnel provides a wide range of support to meet individual student needs. Our emphasis is on the development of the four language arts areas (listening, speaking, reading, and writing).
