Homework Guidelines
Fourth graders are expected to do about 40-50 minutes of homework Monday-Thursday. Twenty minutes of that time should be spent reading. Below are some tips to help guide your family in helping your child with homework.
Establish a time to do homework. Consistency is important.
Create a place to do homework. It should be a comfortable, quiet, and well-lighted place. The place should include supplies such as books, a dictionary, paper, markers, and pencils.
Gather resources needed for assignments. Help determine and gather materials needed for a project. Also, suggest or contact people for an assignment such as an interview or a survey.
Encourage a school-home dialogue. Contact the teacher about any difficulties your child is having regarding homework.

I am Mrs. Jennifer Crowley and I teach 4th grade here at East! I received my Bachelor of Science from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. Go Bluejays!! I received my masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix. I have been teaching for 18 years and this will be my 10th year at East. I am pleased to be a part of your child's education and hope school will be an exciting, challenging, happy place for your child. I will do all I can to help children love to learn, widen their horizons, believe in themselves and be sensitive to the needs of others. You, as parents, can help by taking an interest in and discussing what your child does in school. Help them realilze that you think their experiences are important. Your positive attitude toward school will certainly make a difference! I look forward to a wonderful year!

Hello! I'm a fourth grade teacher at East Elementary in Littleton. Teaching 4th grade has been my passion for over 16 years. I love the curriculum and the enthusiasm of ten year old learners. Before teaching in Littleton, I taught in Denver and in Wheaton, Illinois. I received my Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana where I was born and raised. Go Boilers! I have two adult children, a 2 year old grandson and enjoy leisure time activities like reading, movies, hiking, and traveling.
